Laser and radiofrequency for genital health and wellness and vaginal rejuvenation

The treatment with laser or radiofrequency of the genital area has received a strong demand in recent years by women between 30 and 70 years (young women and women in the pre and post menopause). Naturally, after 30 years, the female genitals begin to undergo certain physical changes that continue with changes associated with the lack of hormones in menopause. In addition, after pregnancy and childbirth, there are also changes that can affect the functional and sexual life of women.

  • Vaginal hyperlaxity syndrome (after childbirth or due to changes associated with age)
  • Dryness and menopausal vaginal atrophy
  • Vaginal rejuvenation (vaginal relaxation, lack of vaginal lubrication and larger than normal lips)
  • Melanosis vulvar

The treatment of these pathologies with either laser or radiofrequency genital is an advance and an improvement over traditional techniques (exercises and surgery).

How is gynecological treatment with laser?

The genital treatment with laser is performed without anesthesia and without home postoperative. Two/three sessions of laser genital spaced a month that last approximately 20 minutes.

The genital laser is a fractionated CO2 laser that produces a contraction of the vaginal mucosa and / or immediate urethra.

Thanks to its biostimulation effect on the mucosa and the subepithelial chorion generates new collagen with a more contracted wall and a mucosa with more layers of cells and with more glycogen in its interior, that is, a healthier and renewed mucosa.

Before a genital laser treatment, a visit with gynecological physical examination and cervico-vaginal cytology is recommended.

What is needed after doing genital laser treatment?

  • The doctor should evaluate the treated area that may have a mild redness that is normal.
  • An aqueous lubricant can be applied- Keep the area clean and wash it with warm water and a soft gel.
  • It is recommended to abstain from sexual intercourse for 7 days in the laser treatment but it is not necessary in the case of radiofrequency.
