TREATMENT OF THE STRIAE WITH LASER, CARBOXITHERAY AND TOPICAL DRUGS
The striae can be rubra (red) or mature white stretch marks. Both can be treated, however, the results will be better when the striae are in the vascularized phase (red striae) than in the scarring (white stria). Nonablative fractional photothermolysis using a 1,550 nm erbium:glass laser (Fraxel re:store, Solta Medical) is safe and effective treatment for striae. In Ribe Clinic, we are obtaining very satisfactory results, which fulfill the expectations of the patients, with laser, both in the red ones and in the white ones.
Performing Fraxel re-store (1550 nm), and in approximately 5 meetings (1 session every 30 days) a very notable improvement (reduction of up to 80 %) is obtained. It consists in decrease of the size of the striae (shorter and narrower) and a tone and texture more similar to that of the normal skin (it eliminates the red color and / or the atrophy in the white striae). This way, the striae looks like greatly the normal skin and scarcely it is estimated. The improvement of the aspect of the striae with laser treatment is very significant comparing the results obtained with the conventional methods.
RibeClinic Protocol to treat the striae
The protocol consisted of a series of 5 treatments of Fraxel re-store (1550 nm) at four-week intervals and a topical treatment regimen (Matricium from Bioderma) applied for one week after each session. In some cases, we offer a combined treatment: the above treatments and the technology of the carboxitherapy that oxygenates the affected area improving the results. Six to 10 meetings (1 every 15 days) are recommended.
